Peshawar Zalmi are looking to secure the services of Umar Akmal for the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to add more firepower to their batting line-up after fiery all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who joined Karachi Kings as president, parted ways with the team earlier this year.
Umar Akmal enjoyed a solid season with Lahore Qalandars, finishing as the third highest run scorer for the Lahore outfit with 164 runs after scoring 335 — the team’s highest — in the first season.
While the 27-year-old is highly inconsistent and attracts more attention off the field, he has immense potential and on his day can be the best player on the field and Zalmi are looking to capitalize on that.
On the other hand, Qalandars are looking to secure the services of Wahab Riaz to bolster their bowling attack.
Riaz, who has been the highest wicket taker for Zalmi for the past two editions, would be a great addition to the Lahore outfit who would be looking to add bite to their attack this season and aim for the title after being ousted in the group stages of both editions of the PSL.
